It’s Women’s History Month, and on Thursday, March 16, the Atlanta Hawks Foundation, Chase and Good Sports hosted a mini basketball clinic as part of Project Rebound, for local youth girls, grades six through 12 at Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
In attendance was WNBA Atlanta Dream guard Asia (AD) Durr, and NBA Atlanta Hawks power forward Onyeka Okongwu. Both AD and Onyeka engaged the young women in a series of basketball drills. The participants also received backpacks, basketballs, basketball shoes, towels, practice uniforms and more.
At Monday’s Hawks game, Chase presented a check to the Atlanta Hawks Foundation as part of ‘Project Rebound’ initiative. Project Rebound, is an initiative launched by the Hawks Foundation and Good Sports in 2018 to provide sports resources to Title I schools and area nonprofits working in high-need communities.
Thursday’s event is the second part of a larger four-part clinic activation in partnership with Chase and in collaboration with Good Sports. Last month, the organizations hosted their first Project Rebound clinic at the John Lewis Invictus Academy for local youth, ages 12-14.
In October 2022, the Atlanta Hawks and JPMorgan Chase announced a new agreement to expand and grow their integrated partnership. As part of the expanded agreement, Chase became the presenting sponsor for Project Rebound: a community platform that works with Good Sports, a national nonprofit whose mission is to drive equitable access in youth sports and physical activity, by supporting children in high-need communities to achieve their greatest potential, on the field and in life.
The Hawks and Chase will host additional Project Rebound clinics at two more recipient organizations through May.
