Ahead of Friday’s matchup with the Knicks the Hawks are returning from a road trip on January 18 at Dallas, the team poured in 130 points on 49-86 shooting from the floor (.570 FG%), including 13-26 from three-point territory (.500 3FG%) and 19-20 from the charity stripe (.950 FT%) . The Hawks became the third team to accomplish such feat this season.

 

The matchup against the New York Knicks marked Atlanta’s third of four regular season matches and first at State Farm Arena.

At the end of the first quarter the Hawks was down 35-38.

 

At the half the Knicks maintained the lead  71-68.

Midway through the 3rd quarter Hawks was finally able to take the lead 75-71. At the end of the period Atlanta was up by one point.

 

In the end the Hawks continued the momentum and captured the 139-124 win over the New York Knicks, scoring their 139 points on .560 FG% (56-100 FGM), .382 3FG% (13-34 3FGM) and .875 FT% (14-16 FTM) .

 

 

 

Throughout Atlanta’s five-game winning streak, Dejounte Murray is recording 26.4 points on .568 FG%, .519 3FG% and .833 FT%, in addition to 7.0 assists, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals. With the win on Friday Murray led the team in scoring 29 points.

Up Next: The Hawks return back home to State Farm Arena to face the Charlotte Hornets. Atlanta enters Saturday’s contest against the Hornets with a season-best five-game winning streak, the second-longest active winning streak in the East. The match is the third of four regular season contests between these two clubs. The season series is currently tied, 1-1, with each team winning on the road.
