College Park dominated the first half of the game and went into halftime with an 18-point lead, the game’s most significant lead.

The momentum shifted when the Knicks went on a 9-0 run early in the fourth quarter. Jarrett Culver tied the game 88-88 at the free throw line with under six minutes left to play, but College Park couldn’t crawl back into the game.

Culver led all scorers with 25 points on 8-16 shooting.

The Knicks outscored College Park 35-17 in the final quarter.

“I think we’re struggling to be sharp on both ends of the ball. There are things that we are doing to make us lose games that we feel like we should win, said Armoni Brooks. “Defensively, we’re not playing with enough energy, just minor things that add up; if you do it enough times throughout a game, they can beat you.”

The Skyhawks Head Coach, Steve Gansey, said few adjustments need to be made for their rematch on Tuesday. “I told our guys that no team has beaten us yet. We’ve only beaten ourselves. We’ve got to keep trusting each other and playing for each other, said Gansey.

The Skyhawks will travel to Connecticut to face off at the Total Mortgage Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 22, for the conclusion of their two-game series against the Knicks.

College Park and the Knicks matched twice during the 21-22 regular season, with the Skyhawks winning both games.
