Goals, Goals, Goals, Glads defeat Solar Bears in a Polarizing 5-0 Win

After having an explosive third period that included three goals in a minute, to claim the 6-3 win over Orlando on Sunday at Amway Center.  The Gladiators returned to home ice to host the Solar Bears for the first time this season on Blues Clues Big City Adventure night at Gas South Arena.

The Glads are coming off a big 2-1 win over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits with Brandon Schultz and Eric Neiley securing goals for the team on Tuesday.

After a sluggish start with only 14 total shots at the end of the 1st, both teams were scoreless. It was in the second period the magic happened.

Rookie Dylan Carabia netted his first ECHL goal to put Atlanta up 1-0.

 

Three minutes later, Kameron Kielly found the back of the net to put the Gladiators ahead by two.

 

Bode Wilde closed out the second period with a shorthanded goal, to extend Atlanta’s lead to three goals.

In the final period Cody Sylvester netted another goal for Atlanta marking his second goal of the season.

Reece Vitelli sealed the win with the game winning 5-on-4 goal (17:16).

”Everyone’s working hard. I can see us starting to go in the direction we need to go. Our goalies are going well. Defensively we are going well. We can get better and better but yea I love that part of it.” said coach Pyle on if it was enjoyable for him, to see the the players buy into his system.

Goaltender David Tendeck turned in the first shutout of the season for the Glads with 19 saves on 19 shots.

“The team were going, it was the
furtherest thing away from the boys. We were all going hard. It was a great team win for everyone.” said Reece Vitelli on the game winning goal.

 Atlanta is now (4-2-0-0) and looks to extend their winning streak when the team travels on the second road test of the season to South Carolina for the first meeting of the campaign against the Stingrays on Saturday. Puck drops at 6:05.
