On Sunday the Atlanta Gladiators defeated the Orlando Solar Bears 6-3 behind three goals in 57 seconds marking the fastest three goals scored by the Gladiators this season.

The Gladiators returned to home ice on Tuesday to face the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (2-1-1-0) at Gas South Arena.

Midway through the first period the Gladiators opened up the scoring effort with a goal from Brandon Schultz.

In the second period Atlanta continued to bring high energy to the ice with fifth-year Gladiator Eric Neiley netting a power-play, cementing his first goal of the season.

In the final minute of the second, Swamp Rabbits Alex Irello scored a goal to cut the deficiency by 1 point.

After two periods of play the Glads continued to lead 2-1. In the end a comeback for the Swamp Rabbits was not a possibility as the Glads skated away with a 2-1 victory.

“I think the compete was there obviously. I think you know they came out pretty hard in the first and then in the second we matched it. We only had five shots. I think the boys did a good job competing in front of me.” stated 6-foot-6 goaltender Tyler Parks.
Last season, the Glads dominated the season series with the Swamp Rabbits and posted a 11-4-0-0 record against Greenville through 15 encounters.
“Big one, home game. We’re two and two against our rival Greenville. We were battling for a spot in a nice two to one win. [We] play well defensively. Parsons played great. I thought offensively we were good. We’re getting better and better every day.”said coach Jeff Pyle.
Up Next: The Glads will return to home ice on Friday Nov 4. to face the Solar Bears. Puck drops at 7:00 PM.
