After falling to LA Galaxy 2-0 on Sunday July 24., at Dignity Health Sports Park. Atlanta traveled to Soldier Field and drew with Chicago Fire FC 0-0 Saturday July 30.

With the draw the Five Stripes secured a crucial road point to stay within the Eastern Conference playoff contention.
Atlanta controlled most of the play in the first half, out-shooting Chicago 8-4 while maintaining 60 percent of possession. Rocco Rios Novo made three saves to secure the club’s first clean sheet since June 19.
“I liked the passion and the intensity that the whole team showed, especially at the end of the game, with a lot of changes and a lot of things. I thought that it was a positive performance. Obviously, we always want to win, but it was a positive performance for me.” said Atlanta United head coach Gonzalo Pineda.
On Tuesday the team announced that defender George Campbell will be out 2-3 weeks after sustaining an adductor injury during the club’s 0-0 draw at Chicago Fire FC.
