Atlanta United draws 2-2 against New England Revolution

On Sunday afternoon, in front of 42,516 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Atlanta United played New England Revolution to a 2-2 draw.

Thiago Almada and Luiz Araújo each scored for the second straight match.

Almada netted the game’s first goal in the 15th minute.

In the 63rd minute, the Brazilian midfielder  Luiz Araújo landed the ball in the corner of the net.

In the end Atlanta was unable to crack the tie in the last final minutes of the match.

“The momentum and environment was really good, but we couldn’t capitalized on those moments where we were dominant in the game.” said Atlanta United Head Coach Gonzalo Pineda.

Atlanta returns to action Saturday, May 21 when it visits Nashville SC at Geodis Park (7:30 p.m. EST, FOX/FOX Deportes, 92.9 The Game, La Mejor).
