The Skyhawks Head Coach, Steve Gansey had one mission last night, “Take care of business.” And for the third consecutive game, the College Park Skyhawks finished with a victory.
The Skyhawks 131-124 win over the Wisconsin Herd Wednesday night gives them a late-season push to keep their NBA G League hopes alive.
College Park took advantage of easy offense in the first half. The Skyhawks scored 49 points in the opening quarter, the most in any quarter for the team this season.
The Skyhawks had a 20 point lead in the first quarter and were shooting 73 percent from the field. Cat Barber scored 11 of his 13 points in the first quarter.
College Park came out blazing offensively in the first half and turned up the defense in the second half.
Says Jalen Johnson, “It was big for me to set the tone tonight and be vocal. That was one of the main things I was focusing on tonight, being that vocal leader on the defensive end.”
Johnson finished with 29 points and 19 rebounds.

DaQuan Jeffries played his first game last night after a left foot injury that caused him to miss six weeks, but he didn’t miss a beat. Jeffries dropped 15 points in the first quarter and finished the game with a season-high 35 points.

The Skyhawks host the Wisconsin Herd at the Gateway Center Arena at College Park Arena at 7 p.m. ET. on Friday. The game will air on Peachtree TV.
