After Atlanta was reduced to 10-men late, Andre Shinyashiki scored Colorado’s third in the 87th minute to make the final score 3-0 in favor of the home side.
“I think you saw the gameplan there. The first 25, 30 minutes I was very happy with the way we were moving the ball around. We didn’t see a couple of movements to get in between the lines, and then again kudos to Colorado.” said Atlanta United Head Coach Gonzalo Pineda . “They were very aggressive, always chasing, pressing and they were doing a good job with that. The gameplan was to try and overload the middle. But we were never really able to play them, the times we did play them, we were lacking those runs in the final third that we had last week. It’s a learning process”
Atlanta (1-1-0, 3 points) returns to action Sunday, March 13 when it hosts Charlotte FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (4:30 p.m., FS1/FOX Deportes, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, La Mejor).
