ATLANTA HAWKS RE-CAP

The Hawks was looking to rebound after seeing their seven-game win streak cracked on Monday by the Toronto Raptors.

On Thursday night the Hawks returned to their home court and defeated the Phoenix Suns 124-115 at State Farm Arena.

Trae Young led the team in scoring 43 points (16-25 FG, 6-11 3FG), five assists and one steal in 36 minutes. The game marked Young’s fourth outing of 40+ points and 5+ assists, tied with Stephen Curry for the most such games in the NBA this season. Young, who has 20 40-or- more scoring outings so far in his four-year career, is one of nine players in NBA history and one of only six players since the 1976-77 merger to have at least 20 games of 40-or-more points prior to turning 24.

On Friday Atlanta headed on the road to face the Raptors for the second time this season, as well as the first time in Toronto. Atlanta fell short in a 125-114 loss.

De’Andre Hunter and John Collins led the team in scoring 23 points a piece, Trae Young collected 22 points and 13 assists. Bogdan Bogdanovic added 18 points off the bench in the loss.

Up Next: The Hawks (25-27) are heading to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Sunday.
