The Atlanta Hawks made some big moves last week, with the idea of becoming a playoff team under General Manager Travis Schlenk and coach Lloyd Pierce. On Tuesday, Trae Young expressed his eagerness to win games.
“Obviously, it’s shown up to this point we haven’t won very many games, but my track record playing basketball, I’ve won my whole life. I took a team in college from not-supposed-to-make a tournament to top five in the country, top four in the country at one point, and led us to the tournament. It’s more about, for me, how I can change that narrative that I can’t win.” Young also spoke on how the blend of veterans and young talent will help the Hawks take the next step forward.

With the signing of Danilo Gallnari and Onyeka Okongwu, we are still awaiting to see if John Collins will suit up in a Hawks uniform this upcoming season. Last week Schlenk said contract extension talks have begun for Collins. Collins expressed to the media on Tuesday his desire to stay in Atlanta. He also spoke on his expectation for the upcoming season.
“We’ve shown flashes of greatness and now we’ve added other solid NBA players, veterans, who have proven themselves in this league.”
