GSU Falls to Louisiana 34-31 in Overtime

Georgia State Football fell to No. 19 /21 Louisiana 34-31 in overtime on Saturday at Center Parc Stadium.

 

Georgia State fell to 0-1 to open the season while Louisiana improved to 2-0 after topping No. 23 Iowa State last week.

Coates responded for the Panthers with a four-yard touchdown run to tie the game with 7:37 remaining before the teams eventually headed to overtime.

 

Georgia State got the ball first in overtime and graduate transfer Noel Ruiz kicked a 25-yard field goal to give the Panthers a 31-28 lead before Elijah Mitchell scored on a 12-yard run to give the Ragin’ Cajuns the win.

Georgia State will take to the road for the first time this season traveling up I-85 to face Charlotte next Saturday at noon on ESPNU.
