Falcons Fell to the Seahawks in Season Opener

The Falcons collapse to the Seahawks, 38-25, in the season opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium without fans on Sunday.

The Falcons offense posted 506 net yards, with three touchdowns, but could not convert any of the four fourth downs.

Sunday’s game marked the first time three Falcons – Julio Jones (157), Calvin Ridley (130) and Russell Gage (114) – each eclipsed at least 100 receiving yards in a single game in franchise history. This is a glimmer of hope that this offense can be good this 2020 season.

Sunday’s game also marked Ryan’s seventh-career season opener with at least 300 passing yards, surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner (six), as well as Jay Cutler, Tony Romo and Matthew Stafford for the second-most games with at least 300 passing yards in Week 1 NFL history.

Matty Ice posted on Twitter, “Not the start we were looking for but we’ll get back to work this week and focus on improving as a unit and prepare for the Cowboys.” #RiseUP

Next up: The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) head to Dallas for an NFC clash when they face the Cowboys (0-1). It’s going down on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. ET.  with both Atlanta and Dallas searching for their first win of the season at AT&T Stadium.
