It was an explosive night on Sunday when the Atlanta Dream finally snapped their 10-game losing streak with a 78-75 dub over the Minnesota Lynx at IMG Academy in Bradenton Fl.

Atlanta’s record against Minnesota improves to 9-20 all-time.

Benijah Laney and Monique Billings both led the team in scoring 16 points each. Courtney Williams collected 14 points, her ninth double-digit effort of the season.

Blake Dietrick gathered her fourth double-figure scoring outing of the season with 13 points.

Billings’ 16 points marked her fifth game in double figures and fourth in the last five games.

Laney gained her second straight double-double – the first two of her career. Her 16 points marked her 12th double-digit effort of 2020.

“I just went out there and played. I try to come out with the same energy every game, regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in playing every other day. My recovery, everything that I do, has been way more than I’ve ever done in my life. So, just trying to stay ready, doing everything that I have to do off the court so I can be ready on the court. Just bringing the energy that I can on both ends.” said Laney on her energy in tonight’s game.

Next up: The Dream is back in action this week with three games in Florida beginning with tonight’s Dream Pink game presented by Emory Healthcare against the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Atlanta will be wearing special pink uniforms as part of WNBA Fit Week.
