“We ended up right where we supposed too. Our greatest odd was being at 6, 25% so we won.” said Atlanta Hawks President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Travis Schlenk on if he was disappointed with tonight’s results.
The Hawks’ roster includes five players age 22-and-younger (Trae Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter, Cam Reddish), with all five having been drafted or obtained on draft night over the last three years.
The NBA Draft 2020 presented by State Farm is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 16. Schlenk was optimistic about the future of the Hawks franchise.
“Now that we know we are 6, we will start trying to set up meetings for the players we think fit that pick.” On the potential of trading the first-round pick Schlenk said, “If there’s a player out there that’s under contract and we have the ability to acquire then and they’re good fit with our young team, we’ll certainly look hard at that.”
Stay tuned.
