After winning their season opener the Atlanta Dream let a win slip through the cracks on Wednesday against the Las Vegas Aces.

The Dream faced former teammate Angel McCoughtry for the first time since the Aces signed McCoughtry in February.
With the momentum high from Sunday’s win Atlanta could not hold off the Aces that led by 30 points in the third quarter. In the end Atlanta struggled defensively and could not recover. Las Vegas walked away with a 100-70 win over the Dream on Wednesday.

Five Aces players scored in double digits. Aja Wilson led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Dearica Hamby gathered 20 points. Kayla McBride scored 14 points. Angel McCoughtry put 12 points and 7 rebounds on the board while Lindsey Allen landed 11 points.

Atlanta Dream Elizabeth Williams led the team in scoring 16 points, 4 rebounds, bringing her to 999 for her career and making it her second double-digit scoring effort of the season.

Blake Dietrick collected a career-high 13 points. Shekinna Stricklen scored in double figures for the second time this season with 10 points. Stricklen is now 18th all-time in made three-pointers (427) in the WNBA. She ranks 20th all-time with 1,132 attempted three-pointers.
Chennedy Carter rounded off the scoring efforts with 11 points for the second straight game.
Up Next: The Atlanta Dream now (1-1) be back in action on this Friday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. ET at the league bubble at IMG Academy in Florida to matchup against the New York Liberty (0-2).
