Skyhawks fall at home 104-133 to the Capital City Go-Go

After falling to the Canton Charge 121-116 on Tuesday, the Skyhawks returned home to face the Capital City Go-Go on Thursday evening at Gateway Arena Center.

 

In the first quarter the Skyhawks trailed Capital City by 11 points.

Cat Barber hit a buzzer beating three to narrow the scoring gap to 54-64 at the half.

By the end of the third quarter the Skyhawks trailed by 19 points.

 

What started off as a lukewarm second half quickly became cold defensively. In the final quarter the Skyhawks was outscored, outrebounded and fell to the  Go-Go 104-133.

Tahjere McCall led the Skyhawks in scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists. Jordan Sibert gathered 20 points. Charlie Brown, Jr. added 15 points and Barber finished with 10 points and 10 assists. Marcus Derrickson put 11 points on the board.

After the game Head Coach Noel Gillespie spoke on the positives.

The Skyhawks now (19-20) head on the road to face the Greensboro Swarm on Feb. 29 before three additional road games. The team returns to home court on March 13 for Heroes Night against the Memphis Hustle at Gateway Center Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
