Vince Carter appeared in his 1,523rd career game, passing Dirk Nowitzki for third on the NBA’s all-time games played list.
All five Hawks’ starters scored in double-figures for the third time this season.
John Collins collected his 11th double-double of the season with 17 points and a season-high 20 rebounds. De’Andre Hunter grabbed 15 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds. Kevin Huerter gathered 12 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Cam Reddish added 12 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Damian Jones captured 14 points, and 7 rebounds.
Trae Young notched his 17th double-double of the season in just the first quarter, scoring 14 points and dishing out 10 assists. Per Elias, Young’s 14-points and 10 assists in the first quarter made him the first NBA player since at least 2000-01 to record 10+ points and 10+ assists in any quarter.
Young finished with 39 points, a career-high 18 assists, six rebounds and two steals.
It was announced today that Young was selected as a participant for the U.S. Team in the 2020 NBA Rising Stars on Friday, Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. ET in Chicago, it was announced today. Young, who also participated in the 2019 Rising Stars, will start the NBA All-Star Game two days later after leading all Eastern Conference guards in fan votes.

“I’m getting better every day. There were times in the game tonight when I was giving the ball up and that’s something that’s going to get better.” said Young. “I think I managed the game well from start to finish tonight, and my teammates helped me with that.”
Next Up: The Hawks now (13-36) are heading to Dallas to face the Mavs on Feb 1, then Boston at home on Feb 3.
