In front of a crowd of 32,968 North Carolina A&T were back at the Celebration Bowl on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

It was the team’s fourth appearance. The Aggies were 3-0 in their previous three visits including two wins over Alcorn.
Alcorn played in it’s second consecutive Celebration Bowl, and third in school history since the bowl started in 2015.
Can we talk about Austell, Georgia native Kylil Carter? Carter completed 18 of 30 passes for 364 yards and six touchdowns, leading the Aggies to a 64-44 victory over Alcorn State.

The Aggie’s Elijah Bell scored a 53 yard touchdown.

Alcorn State responded with ATL’s native Felix Harper leading the Braves down the field and runs it in himself from 5 yards out after an 11 play drive.

With :57 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Aggies Kylil Carter put the team in front of the Braves 52-31 with a touchdown pass. Carter tied the North Carolina A&T Aggies Football single-game record for Touchdown passes with six. Carter also, tied Alan Hooker’s 34-year old record.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter Alcorn Nigel Wood put the Braves back in the game with a 13-yd touchdown catch.

Noel Ruiz connected on a 38-yard field goal capping 11-play, 30-yard drive. Ruiz improved to 23-27 on the season and A&T led 55-38 with 7:00 remaining.

Alcorn Felix Harper came through again with 1-yard run, to cut A&T’s lead to 55-44, but the PAT snap goes over the holder’s head and A&T’s Amir McNeil returns it for two A&T points. The Aggies lead 57-44 with 4:36 to play in 4th Qtr.

In his final game at North Carolina A&T Senior QB Kylil Carter was named the game’s offensive MVP. North Carolina A&T freshman linebacker Jacob Roberts was named the game’s defensive MVP.

Aggies Head Coach Sam Washington spoke about the win, “Throughout the year, it can be taxing, but we know there is a huge reward at the end of the tunnel,” he said. “It’s worth the journey.”
