On a rainy Saturday afternoon, Georgia State hosted it’s final home game of the 2019 season on Senior Day as South Alabama visited Georgia State Stadium.
South Alabama was able to score 3 points early in the 1st quarter. Diego Guajardo knocked it through the upright’s from 34 yards out on his 1st career FG attempt to put the Jags up by 3.

The Panthers finally scored with Destin Coates scoring a touchdown and a successful field goal putting the Panthers in the lead 7-3

Panthers scored another touchdown by Devin Gentry putting the score at 14-3 .

Another senior scored on Senior Day. Tra Barnett gave GSU a 21-3 lead with a 2-yard TD run. This is the 7th game with 100 yards, and his 11th touchdown, both school records. Barnett now has over 2000 career rushings.

Entering into the fourth quarter with 14:53 minutes on the clock Roger Carter scored a touchdown.

Panthers defeated South Alabama on Senior Day and end the regular season 5-1 at home. making this the most home wins in GSU’s 10-year history.

There was, nineteen seniors honored on Senior Day. This class brought the Panthers it’s first bowl victory in 2017 and bowl eligibility again in 2019.
