NFL Dolphins release RB Mark Walton

On Tuesday morning, the Miami Dolphins waived second-year running back Mark Walton hours after he was arrested, and charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman in South Florida.

According to ESPN, Walton 22, is being accused of pushing a woman into a wall and punching her several times in her face and head, leaving her with a swollen eye.

Sources states the alleged woman is 5 weeks pregnant and Walton is the father.

The troubled running back was nearing the end of his 4-game suspension for violating the NFL conduct and substance abuse policy, stemming from three arrests last offseason. A Florida court sentenced Walton in August to six months’ probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor weapons charge.

Walton had been eligible to return in time for the Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
