The struggle became real, on Tuesday night when the Hawks loss Trae Young early in the second to an ankle injury at American Airlines Arena, resulting in a 112-97 loss to the Heat.

Young leaped into the air, landed, and bumped the foot of Miami’s point guard Justice Winslow awkwardly rolling his ankle. Shortly after Young was helped to his feet, and escorted to the locker room for further medical evaluation.

ESPN League source Adrian Wojnarowski, tweeted on Twitter, “X-Rays were negative on Atlanta guard Trae Young’s right ankle, and there’s optimism that this isn’t a serious injury.”

According to the Hawks website Trae Young received treatment at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex and was ruled OUT for tomorrow night’s game versus the Miami Heat at State Farm Arena. Young will be re-evaluated on Monday and his status will be updated as appropriate.
