Trae Young leads Hawks to season-opener win over Pistons

The Atlanta Hawks open the season with Trae Young leading the team in scoring 38 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds in a 117-110 victory over the Pistons last night in Detroit.

Trae Young had a historical night. Young’s 38 points at Detroit is the most by a Hawk in a season opener since Dominique Wilkins’ scored 39 points against the Nets on 11/1/86.

Hawks’ Power Forward John Collins kept attacking in the paint.

Collins high energy and aggressiveness helped him capture a season double double with 18 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, and 1 block in 30 minutes.
