PHOENIX – Brittney Sykes recorded her first career double-double but the Atlanta Dream dropped a 65-63 decision to the Phoenix Mercury (6-6) Sunday evening at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
Sykes scored 22 of her 29 points in the third quarter, her second-best scoring effort of her career. Her career-high also came in Phoenix on September 3, 2017 when she finished with 33. The third-quarter outburst tied a WNBA record for points in a quarter. Tiffany Hayes added 10 points for the Dream (3-10).
