Hawks unable to propel pass Rockets

Hawks was unable to hold off James “The Beard” Harden and the Houston Rockets on Tuesday at State Farm Arena.

In the 1st quarter Vince Carter led the team with scoring three 3-point shots.

At the end of the 1st the Hawks and Rockets score was tied  25-25.

At the Half the Hawks trailed the Rockets by 6 points. John Collins picked up 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Even with Deandre Bembry putting in work by scoring a layup and two 3-point jump shots late in the 3rd, the Hawks fell behind the Rockets by 12 points.

In the end the Rockets launched passed the Hawks 121-105.

Five Hawks players scored with  double digits. Trae Young collected his 24th double-double on the season finishing with 21 points and 12 assists.

John Collins added 20 points and 10 rebounds. Collins has now cemented his 2017 NBA draft class leading 30th double-double of the season. He now ranks 5th in the Eastern Conference with 18 games of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds and he has recorded a double-double in eight of his last 10 contests.

Taurean Prince gathered 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, the elder statesman Vince Carter woke up from his slumber and put up 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists, and Deandre Bembry stacked up 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists.

The Hawks now (24-48) will go toe to toe against the Utah Jazz on Thursday at State Farm Arena. Tip off starts at 7:30 pm.
