The WNBA and MARVEL are teaming up. In anticipation of the upcoming “Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel” release, the two created a spot that showcases the “superhero” moves of WNBA players alongside those of Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larsen. Together, Captain Marvel and a tough cadre of W players like Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird and A’ja Wilson prove that grit, power and strength can make a hero and inspire girls around the world to be heroes too.
The initial launch of the new “What Makes a Hero” spot will debut during halftime of the NBA All-Star Game on February 17. “Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel” will debut in theaters on Women’s International Day on March 8.
The WNBA season tips off on May 24
