In the comments of Lin’s IG page, he sent a text to former Raptor and current Memphis Grizzlies Jonas Valanciunas and asked if it was okay for him to wear No. 17. Valanciunas gave his permission.
Jeremy Lin will be wearing No. 17 with the Raptors. In the comments of his IQ post, he confirms that he texted Jonas Valanciunas and got permission to wear JV's long-time number. Classy move by Lin to ask. Even classier move by JV to sign off.

This was definitely a classy move on both parties. Now it’s time to move on to the Atlanta Hawks who failed to capture a win on Sunday against the Orlando Magic. After being delivered the heartbreaking the 108-124 defeat, the Hawks are on a road to redemption in hopes of capturing a win when they face Lebron and the Lakers Tuesday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is at 7:30.
