WWE Hall of Famer Gene Okerlund, has passed away at age 76.
Born December 19, 1942, in Sisseton South Dakota “Mean
Gene ” Okerlund, was an American professional wrestlinginterviewer, announcer and wrestler. He was best known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling. In 2006 Gene was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Hulk Hogan. He was signed to a lifetime contract with WWE and worked for promotional programs, mostly WWE Network programming and occasionally TV.
Okerlund is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanne Okerlund; two sons, Todd Okerlund, Tor Okerlund, and three grandchildren.
