ATLANTA – The Atlanta Dream, who will play its home games at State Farm Arena in 2019, will tip off its season against the Dallas Wings on Friday, May 24 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta, according to the 2019 WNBA schedule, which was released Tuesday by league officials.

“The schedule release is always exciting for coaches because it feels like we are getting closer to the season,” Head Coach Nicki Collen said. “Our schedule is incredibly challenging, with so much talent up and down this league. It will be important for our fans to be ready to go in May to help us get off to a great start.”
Coming off a record-setting season, the Dream are expected to return all of its core pieces from a roster that finished 23-11 and earned the No. 2 seed in the 2018 WNBA Playoffs.
“Obviously, with last season’s success in mind, we know no one is going to take us for granted,” Collen added. “We will have to be prepared to compete each and every night if we want to duplicate our 2018 results.”
The WNBA schedule was reworked in 2016 to create a more balanced look as teams will now play each other a minimum of three times, regardless of conference affiliation. This year, the Dream will play four games against Jasmine Thomas and conference rival the Connecticut Sun.
