Wow,wow and wow! The Atlanta Dream just can’t stop winning! Tonight’s huge win over the LA Sparks ended at 79-73! The game was so close and intense, but we’re just so glad that our Dream came true! The Dream advance to a record of 20-10 which is also a franchise record, go girls! For the Sparks, Candace Parker led scoring with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Riquna Williams came off the bench firing at us with 18 points, 2 steals and 1 assists. Chelsea Gray also came through to assist the Sparks with 13 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds.
The Atlanta Dream’s leading scorer was Jessica Breland with 19 points and 9 rebounds. We’re so used to her using her length to grab consistent rebounds on an every game basis but it seems as if we put an automatic button on her that we could press to enable her mid-range jumper to consistently fall in. Tiffany Hayes ended with 13 points and 1 assist to help out the team. Alex Bentley, who’s been on absolute fire lately, ended with 13 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds. Elizabeth Williams held it down in the paint for us tonight with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Unfortunately, it’s been confirmed that Angel Mccoughtry will be out for the rest of the season with a left knee injury.
This is the first time that Angel’s ever been injured throughout her entire career so we wish her well on her recovery journey and will keep in mind that this is just a minor setback for a MAJOR comeback. Get well Angel! Next up, the Dallas Wings are visiting us on Saturday at 2 PM! Keep on running with the Dream like we are and a championship trophy shall be upon us! Let’s go Dream!
