MINNEAPOLIS – Team Parker defeated Team Delle Donne 119-112 Saturday afternoon in the 15th WNBA All-Star game at Target Arena in Minneapolis.
League veteran Angel McCoughtry played on Team Parker and was selected as a starter in the backcourt. McCoughtry finished with 10 points, four assists and five rebounds in 20 minutes of play. This All-Star game marks her fifth All-Star appearance over her eight-year career. She was an All-Star in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Dream point guard Renee Montgomery competed in the 3-point contest at halftime and finished with 18 points, four of them money balls. Although Montgomery didn’t win first place, the jersey she wore might’ve been the most talked about thing surrounding the 3-point contest. She chose to wear standout teammate Tiffany Hayes’ No. 15 jersey in honor of her being snubbed of an All-Star nomination.
The Dream return to action Tuesday, July 31inside McCamish Pavilion at 7 p.m. to face the visiting Washington Mystics for the third and final time this season.
