When asked, Pierce about Trae Young’s 18 points and game performance he said, “We got a lot of work to do. We didn’t score very well tonight. I think he shot 5 for 10, which is fine. He’s our leader, he’s our leader on the floor. He’s the guy that got to keep us organized. He’s trying to get us organized and trying to score, and it’s a lot on his plate but that’s the responsibility he’s looking for this year. We got to continue to help him…”
Young, on his performance, “It’s preseason but I don’t want to use that as a tool as a excuse for me to turn the ball over. I have to be better and I will be better.”
John Collins on the loss, “ My body feels great, body feels great, not much else to say. Tough night.”
Up next, the Hawks are heading on the road to play their three remaining preseason games starting on Monday in Miami. (October 14 the Heat, October 16 the Knicks, and Oct 17 the Bulls).
