Home court advantage; Dream capture second straight win

On Friday night, the Atlanta Dream vanquish the Minnesota 60-53 and collected their second straight win, at State Farm Arena.

Elizabeth Williams led the Dream in scoring for the third time this season. Williams had her seventh double-digit scoring outing with 17 points.

After the game here’s what Head Coach Nicki Collen, spoke onthe versus Lynx and key players:“Just incredibly proud. I really think we would’ve blown them out if we would’ve made some open shots from the arc. We’re so good when we touch the paint. As much as anything, I’m just proud how we defended. We just really dialed in to the game plan once again. When Danielle Robinson takes more shots than Sylvia Fowles, we’ve done our job defensively. She got a couple easy ones, but when you make them play out of system and they can’t play to fouls then you see the result. Even though Tiffany Hayes had a not very good offensive game, you had two really good defenders guarding each other in that game with Sims (Odyssey Sims) and Hayes (Tiffany Hayes). I thought she got some open threes that she missed but I just continue to think that Tiffany Hayes is the best defensive two guard in this league, hands down.”

With 90 seconds left in the game, Alex Bentley scored a 3-pointer, sealing and delivering a 60-53 win against the Lynx. After the game, Kaelyn Green spoke with Alex Bentley about the physicality of the game.

Carlita Duran spoke with Renee Montgomery about the defensive energy in the game.

The Dream now (5-10) will matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks today at State Farm. tip-off starts at 3:00 p.m.
