Mystics walk away with 89-73 win over Dream

On Sunday, in a tale of two halves the Mystics walk away with a 89-73 win over the Dream at State Farm Arena.

At the half Atlanta was able to hold off Della Donne and the Mystics by 3 points.

It was within a blink of an eye that the Mystics pull wildly away from Atlanta causing the Dream to trail 70-52 to start the 4th which ultimately led to the Dream collapsing in their second straight defeat.

Monique Billings had her first career double double with 12 rebounds and 10 points.

Tiffany Hayes tied a career-high with four 3’s put on the board.

Coach Nicki Collen on the overall results, “We won three of the four quarters today. If you eliminate one bad quarter, I thought we played really good basketball. I thought the first half was really good offensive basketball by us. The ball had a lot of energy, we moved the ball, we made some open shots, we got second shots. Mo (Monique Billings) played with a lot of energy and got us multiple offensive rebounds, and even though they didn’t all result in lay ups or put backs, they got us extra possessions. When you play with energy and get extra possessions—even if you don’t score—it just kind of keeps everyone engaged.”

The Dream now 2-7, will host the New York Liberty Sunday, June 30 at 3:00 p.m.at State Farm Arena.
