Hawks snap ten-game losing streak with 124-123 win over Hornets

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Charlotte Hornets, ending their ten game losing streak on Sunday.

At the half, the Hawks trailed the Hornets by 1 point. Late in the 3rd quarter Kent Bazemore connected a 2-pointer helping the team capture the lead.

Close to the end of the 4th, is when the true magic happened.  Atlanta’s energy level heightened and the competitive spirit invaded the game when hero Kent Bazemore hit a game-winning layup with seconds remaining on the clock. John Collins sealed the victory with a blocked shot and finally the Hawks losing streak came to an end.

John Collins led the team as top scorer with 23 points 11 rebounds, Kent Bazemore with 20 points and Trae Young with 18 points.

After the game Trae Young spoke about the team breaking the 10 game losing streak and the mood.

Kent Bazemore gave one word to summarize Sunday’s win.

John Collins also spoke about the team’s effort and teamwork.

Hawks now (4-16) are on a three game road trip and will face Miami Heat on Tuesday.
